West Alameda will be closed at the South Platte River Bridge all weekend

West Alameda Avenue will be closed at the South Platte River Bridge for demolition Friday evening through Monday morning.

The closure — which will be in effect from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday — will impact Alameda between Kalamath and Lipan streets, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The southbound Interstate 25 ramp to Alameda will also be closed during the same period.

The South Platte River bridge, built in 1911, is the oldest bridge on the state highway system, CDOT says.

The current project started in January 2023 and is expected to be completed next spring.
