The jury delivered a verdict on Thursday in the 'hush money' trial of Alvin Bragg: guilty on all 34 counts!
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump in April 2023 with 34 crimes related to “hush payments” he made to Stormy Daniels.
Trump was accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels, aka Stephanie Clifford, “hush payments” through his then-lawyer Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and prevent the story of their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer published.
The jury deliberations began on Wednesday after Judge Merchan ordered them to choose from three predicate crimes that Trump is alleged to have committed.
After deliberating for several hours Thursday, the jury returned a guilty verdict after the judge rigged the trial by letting jurors choose which crime they thought Trump committed.
Trump faces four years in prison on each charge.
The verdict was set for July 11.
Judge Merchan was told there is no bail.
President Trump said the trial was rigged after the guilty verdict was announced.
“I am a political prisoner!” Trump said.
