For his part, the NFL player said he would be “breaking new ground with Niecy” and “entering a new world with one of the legends” as he reposted the video to his own Instagram page.
News of Kelce's foray into scripted TV followed rumors that surfaced online earlier this year, after an unnamed source told People that he was interested in turning his attention to acting. But by then he had already taken several steps from the football field to Hollywood.
Kelce appeared “Saturday Night Live” last fall in a surprise cameo spot alongside his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and earlier that year he hosted an episode of the sketch comedy show.
