TRACY SMITH: “What is your relationship with [Bill Hudson] now?”
KATE HUDSON: “I don't really have one. But it's like it's heating up. There's a warming happening now that all this is happening… but it's going to be whatever it's going to be, you know. I don't have one there expectation of with my dad, you know. It's like I just want him to be happy.
About her music:
TRACY SMITH: “Has anyone ever said to you: you can't make music?”
KATE HUDSON: “Hmm, good question. Yeah. There was someone who said to me and it confused me a little bit. … It was when I was in my early thirties. And they basically said, 'It's done, it's over.' That's not possible, you're too old.' And you know, for me it wasn't just about performing as an artist, it was about wanting to write music. So it kind of resonated there. [expletive] You.”
Her album 'Glorious' will be released on May 17.
