About her music:

TRACY SMITH: “Has anyone ever said to you: you can't make music?”

KATE HUDSON: “Hmm, good question. Yeah. There was someone who said to me and it confused me a little bit. … It was when I was in my early thirties. And they basically said, 'It's done, it's over.' That's not possible, you're too old.' And you know, for me it wasn't just about performing as an artist, it was about wanting to write music. So it kind of resonated there. [expletive] You.”
