A horrific tragedy at sea occurred earlier this week when a passenger jumped to his death on the world's largest cruise ship.
Like the New York Post reportedCoast Guard officials revealed that the unidentified man left Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas more than 80 feet overboard shortly after it left Florida for Honduras on Sunday.
The Coast Guard told At the Post they deployed one of their lifeboats, located the person and brought him back on board the ship. He was pronounced dead after the rescue.
The US Coast Guard continued participation they were not involved “much” in this incident other than assisting with the search.
Below is a video of rescue crews desperately trying to locate the man after he jumped.

CruiseHive revealed the ship stopped for about two hours before the search.
Royal Caribbean has one rack told CruiseHive they are providing assistance to the deceased man's loved ones and have no further details to share at this time.
“The ship's crew immediately alerted the U.S. Coast Guard and initiated a search and rescue operation. Our care team is actively providing support and assistance to the guest's loved ones during this difficult time. For the privacy of the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share,” the statement said.
The icon of the sea is that of Royal Caribbean newest ship. It is approximately 350 meters long, Icon of the Seas and can accommodate 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew.
It also has 2,805 staterooms and 20 decks.
This isn't the first incident of passengers jumping off Royal Caribbean ships. Last month, a 20-year-old man jumped off Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas right in front of his family after getting drunk. He remains missing.
According to According to the Washington Post, 386 people have jumped from cruise ships in the past 20 years.
