Google Keep is getting a productivity boost with new multi-account support for the split-screen option. This means you can have two instances of Keep open with different accounts at the same time. The feature is rolling out to large-screen Android devices, like tablets and foldables.
Keep is one of Google's most popular apps because it lets you quickly create tasks and set reminders, among other things. Last year, the app gained multi-instance support on large screen devices. This allows users of supported devices to open two Keep app windows side by side. The feature is designed to make working more comfortable when creating and organizing your notes and reminders. However, you could only view your notes on one account.
Google Keep now supports side-by-side accounts on large-screen Android devices
Now it's business add Multi-account support for Google Keep's multi-instance feature. You can now view your notes side by side between two different Keep accounts, enable even more options to work and organize your stuff. According to Google, “Having two windows open side by side gives you better insight into your notes and more ways to work with, view, and organize your content across accounts.”
The process of setting up two Keep windows with different accounts on your devices can be a bit cumbersome. You can’t do this via the Multitasking menu Recents > Split Screen option. You can only enable it via the overflow menu after selecting a note in the app and tapping “Open in new window.” Now you’ll see a new “Switch accounts” option.
Multi-account support is available in the latest update of the Google Keep app (5.24.242.03.90). However, you may not receive this option even after installing the update. This is because the rollout is gradual. So you only have to wait a few days before you get the feature on your device.
